Painted on synthetic non-woven paper surface, One has a beautifully painted “sleeve” in top header and footer at the bottom for a dowel. Top dowel has a satin cord from which to hang scroll. Bottom dowel provides an elegant weight for the hanging piece.
Drawn to the interwoven fibers found in webs and nests, I see oversized nest as a metaphor for our interconnectedness. Fragmented net patterns serve as the background for gestural lines that form a dynamic nest. This is a reminder that when we tune out the noise of the news, we are able to remember that we are all One.
