Big Fish Little Pond in My Drawers

Day #21 of What’s in My Drawers.
Fluid and peaceful, my koi pond continues to be a place of refuge. This was one of 3 or 4 large paintings on paper that I did when we first moved into our home several years ago. Finding a house with a koi pond and gardens closed the deal, and made the transition with two sons, a rabbit, a cat, a mother in law and a tractor trailer full of stuff that much easier to do.
My koi paintings are as much about what is happening below the surface as they are about the beauty, grace and resilience of the fish.

December 28, 2014Thank you Liza- it is the underlying spirit that is the thread that runs through my work- I greatly appreciate you recognizing that- and helping me clarify it more clearly.

February 27, 2015Koi fish can be survived only in a neat clean, maintained pond without non toxic products. You have to be very choosy regarding this.
Pond pro 2000,Made in USA is a safe choice to keep pod clean and maintained as it is not dangerous for koi at all.
