As a mother of two boys, I know quite a bit about Wild Things.
So, when the opportunity came to paint large scale characters from Maurice Sendak’s beloved book, Where the Wild Things Are for an upcoming event, I jumped at the chance.
Oh and what great fun I had.
Commissioned by a client for a baby shower she is throwing for her first grandson to be, they are all tempera with marker on foam board and then cut out.
and as our very own Wild Thing will soon be embarking on his next journey in life- off to college, we may want to cry, “Oh please don’t go- we’ll eat you up- we love you so.”
Like Max, Griffin is (almost) ready to set sail,- he still likes to find “supper waiting for him.”
Nan fantastic work! Love mom.
Thanks Mom a.k.a. Ellen… we do love our Wild Things!
These are wonderful!!!
Thank you Liza- had great fun doing them.
Nan did you get my reply about how great I THOUGHT the pictures were? I AM SOOO PROUD OF YOU. LOVE MOM
Hope your wild things turn everyone on. They look great
They were delivered this week Bobbi and the response has been great. Can’t wait to see how they are displayed through her house!
Wild! Wild! Wild! Love every bit of it. Fear not for yourselves or Griffin as he launches. He will enrich life for all of you in ways you cannot imagine now.
Linda
Thank you Linda, yes we have to trust- and let go.
