Going into the studio, or actually, my garage or driveway with cans of spray paint, assorted nets and a large drop cloth is the first step of my work. The shifting patterns created by the nets as stencils on the blank canvas are the primary layer of the painting. From there, I move to my studio with the canvas and allow the layers of fish, shifting light and in this painting, collage elements to reveal themselves capturing energetic movement and shifting moments in time.
